Risk level changes the ride, not the odds
On low risk most drops come back close to what you bet. On high risk most drops lose and a rare one pays enormously. Over time they come to the same thing, but high risk will empty a balance far faster.
Duel Original · Single-drop
Sixteen rows of pins, seventeen buckets, and a genuine coin flip at every pin.
How to play
Pick a risk level — low, medium or high — and a row count.
Higher risk flattens the centre and fattens the edges. The weighted sum stays at 1.
Drop the ball. It resolves instantly; the animation renders a result already decided.
Auto-drop runs hundreds of balls if you want to watch the binomial fill in.
Playing it well
On low risk most drops come back close to what you bet. On high risk most drops lose and a rare one pays enormously. Over time they come to the same thing, but high risk will empty a balance far faster.
Going from 8 to 16 rows makes the extremes exponentially rarer and the top payouts correspondingly larger. If you are chasing a headline multiplier, row count matters more than risk level.
Every bounce is a straight 50/50 — nothing nudges the ball toward the cheap middle buckets. That is why the odds on each bucket are exactly what the shape of the board says they should be.
Quick check. Copy the 17 bucket payouts from a 16-row board, multiply each by C(16,i) ÷ 65536, and sum them. A zero-edge table totals exactly 1.0000.
Fair odds are not a winning system. Taking the casino’s advantage away does not hand you one. The best any of these games does is break even over time, and a bad night can still take everything you brought. Decide what you are willing to lose before you open the game, not halfway through it.
What it pays
The numbers below are what actually lands in your balance, using a $10 bet as the example.
The ball bounces left or right sixteen times on its way down, so it almost always ends up somewhere near the middle. The buckets at the far edges pay enormously precisely because the ball hardly ever reaches them.
Roughly one drop in five lands dead centre. Reaching an outside bucket takes about one drop in sixty-five thousand.
| Where it lands | How often | Pays |
|---|---|---|
| Dead centre | 1 drop in 5 | The least |
| Just off centre | 1 in 6 | A little |
| Halfway out | 1 in 36 | Middling |
| Near the edge | 1 in 4,000 | A lot |
| The far edge | 1 in 65,000 | The most |
FAQ
No. Where the ball ends up is decided the moment you press drop — the bouncing you watch is just the game showing you a result it already has. Replay the same round with the same seeds and the ball takes the identical path.
None needed. A parity check splits 2³² exactly in half, so each bounce is a perfect 50/50 with no bias to correct.
Your own client seed is mixed into every result, so once Duel reveals the server seed you can recalculate any round offline.
