Cold and hot numbers do not exist
Every draw is a completely fresh shuffle of all forty numbers. A number that has not shown up in 200 rounds is exactly as likely as any other on round 201.
Quick check. Take the paytable for a 5-pick board, weight each payout by its hypergeometric probability over 40 choose 10, and sum. A fair table totals 1.0000.
Fair odds are not a winning system. Taking the casino’s advantage away does not hand you one. The best any of these games does is break even over time, and a bad night can still take everything you brought. Decide what you are willing to lose before you open the game, not halfway through it.

Why is keno normally such a bad bet?
Because the paytable pays far less than the odds justify, and almost nobody works it out. The probabilities aren’t hard to look up — most people just never do.

- The cursor runs 0 to 38 — 39 shuffle steps over a 40-tile pool numbered 0 to 39.
- At each step, HMAC-SHA256 the seed pair and take the first 4 bytes as a decimal.
- Reject and resample at 4,294,967,275 or above, excluding 21 of the 2³² values.
- Apply a reversed Fisher-Yates shuffle, then draw the first 10 entries and add 1, giving numbers 1 to 40.

Your own client seed is mixed into every result, so once Duel reveals the server seed you can recalculate any round offline.
